For
any games that you must turn back, please return the original
contract or your copy of the contract to the appropriate
assignor/associate assignor who is responsible for reassigned
games. I am responsible for ALL Varsity reassignments. Ed
Shindledecker is responsible for all JV/9th Grade/Middle
School reassignments in Area 3. Bob Ribic, Sr. is responsible
for all JV/9th Grade/Middle School reassignments in Area
1. George Naylor is responsible for all JV/9th Grade/Middle
School reassignments in Area 2. Attached is a closed date
sheet (PDF) (HTML)
which I advise you to copy, update and fill out and give
to the appropriate assignor for games that will be reassigned.
There will be plenty of reassignments to be made at all
levels. If you want more assignments than you received,
please be sure to fill out an updated closed date sheet
and submit to the appropriate associate assignor. Some items
of note:
1. It
is your responsibility to keep the appropriate assignor
updated as far as your closed dates.
2. Game
turn backs will be tracked by each official. Acceptable
reasons for turn backs include receiving a higher level
assignment, sickness or illness, work/job demands and personal
family situations. An unusually large number of turn backs
will be evaluated and could affect your rating.
3. PIAA
assignments always take preference over non-PIAA assignments.
MPC assignments take preference over non-MPC assignments.
Violation of this policy will affect your rating.
4. Missing
a MPC game assignment will affect your rating. The burden
of proof is on the official not the assignor or school.
In other words, you are guilty until you prove innocence.
5. If
you show up of a contest and you are without a partner,
both Coaches must decide whether to continue to play the
contest or not. If they decide to play with one official,
then you are entitled to 1 and 1/2 the game fee at a minimum,
although I believe most Athletic Directors will pay you
for 2 times the game fee. If they decide not to play, then
you are entitled to 1/2 the game fee at a minimum.
6. In
the event of game cancellation, you are to be notified my
phone call or phone message, three hours prior to game time.
If you are not notified and show up then you are entitled
to 1/2 the game fee.
7. If
a game is cancelled, the schools first must offer the re-scheduled
date to the original officials. If the original officials
cannot work, then the schools will notify the appropriate
assignor for replacement.
8. When
turning back games for reassignment please send the appropriate
assignor/associate assignor either the complete copy of
the contract or your copy with a note of explanation. This
provides a much-needed paper trail.
9. Please
contact me for non-emergency situations via email or regular
mail. If the situation you have is an emergency and critical
please call me at 717-975-2187. If I don't answer, please
leave a message. More than likely, if I don't answer it
is due to being unavailable at that time.
10.
Please call your partner for all assignments. If you are
a replacement official it is your responsibility to contact
both your partner and the athletic director at the school
you will be officiating. Violation of this policy will affect
your rating.
11.
Please match the contracts you receive versus your schedule.
The contracts are what you should use as far as your final
authorization of your game assignments. If you do not receive
a contract for a game, then the game was probably cancelled.
If you receive an additional contract for a game not on
your schedule, this was probably added.
